Narrative

The highest visitor numbers were reached during the time that Wil Hartog won the Dutch TT in Assen. During the summer visitors from all over the world visit the racing track in Assen. They are symbolised by the common swift, a summer resident in The Netherlands, that is fast and agile, just like the motorcyle.

The difference between the present and the past is portraited by the seperation of black and white and colour. If you look carefully the common swift is also depicted as a turtle. Because the motorcycles of the past were in fact slow compared to those in the modern GP. What not has changed is that for motorcyclists their hearts are still in racing. Which is reflected by the tilted heart. In addition the initials of Wil Hartog can be found in the eye of the common swift and in the front wheel of motorcycle 1.
