Tree Of World Cultures
Mural in 798 Art District, Beijing, China

In the current era of globalization and multicultural integration, the importance of art as a bridge of cultural exchange has become increasingly prominent. Toyism, as an emerging art movement, has attracted wide attention from all over the world with its unique artistic language and profound cultural connotation.

In the past two years, with the support of governments at all levels, the 798 Art Zone has been comprehensively upgraded in multiple dimensions, including sightseeing setups, public Spaces and property services. After the re-planning of business form, space and industry, the scope of the pedestrian block of the 798 Art Zone has been expanded to nearly 100,000 square meters, and seven public squares have been planned to provide more exhibition space for cultural and artistic contents. The large-scale art mural “Tree of World Cultures” was unveiled with great interest by the management of 798 and Ingrid de Beer, cultural advisor of the Dutch embassy, on April 3, 2024 in the 798 Art Zone.

As one of the highlighted works of the toyism art movement, the mural of the Tree of World Cultures is breath-taking with its unique artistic style and profound cultural connotation. Centering on a large tree, the mural skillfully integrates cultural elements from around the world through bright colors and rich imagination. From the large tree at the center of the composition to the presentation of cultural landmarks to the depiction of Mozart’s web of music and gastronomic elements, every detail reflects the unique perspective and creativity.

In the mural, the big tree serves as a central hub connecting all cultural elements, and its sinuous branches and rich colors represent the diversity and interconnectedness of world cultures. The integration of iconic elements of Chinese culture such as the Great Wall, the Forbidden City and the Temple of Heaven not only demonstrates the heaviness and uniqueness of Chinese culture, but also reflects China’s important position in cultural exchanges around the world. The presentation of the 798 Art Zone, on the other hand, is a microcosm of the development of Chinese contemporary art, reflecting the close relationship between art and culture.
